Between "we love the formula" and boxes on a pallet, there's a process most brand owners never see. Here's what it involves — and why skipping steps almost always costs more later.
When a formula is approved, it can feel like the hard part is over. In reality, the gap between "we have a formula we like" and "we have a warehouse of finished product" involves several steps that exist specifically to catch problems while they're still cheap to fix. Here's what that process typically looks like.
Step 1: Trial Batch
Before any full production run, a small trial batch is made — often at a scale closer to a lab than a factory floor. This confirms that the formula, which may have been developed in small quantities, actually behaves the same way when scaled up.
