Getting Started

How do I start a project with TX Labs?

Reach out via our contact page with your product concept, target volume, and timeline — our team will scope the right formulation and manufacturing path.

Do I need a formula, a brief, or just an idea to begin?

Any of the three works. If you have a formula, that points to OEM. If you have a brief or benchmark product, that points to ODM. If you have neither, private label is usually the fastest starting point.

Does TX Labs work with first-time brand owners?

Yes — a large share of our clients are launching their first product. Our Low MOQ options are specifically built for start-ups, entrepreneurs, clinics, and salons.

What information should I prepare before my first consultation?

A rough idea of product type, target customer, target volume, and timeline is enough to start — our team will help fill in the rest during scoping.

Can I speak with someone before committing to anything?

Yes — the initial consultation is exactly that: a conversation to scope your project, with no obligation to proceed.

OEM, ODM & Private Label

What is the difference between OEM and ODM manufacturing?

OEM manufacturing produces a product to a formula you already own or specify. ODM manufacturing means our R&D team also designs the formulation for you, from concept to finished product.

What is private label manufacturing?

Private label means starting from a proven base formulation and customising branding, packaging, and sometimes minor formula details — a faster route to market than a fully custom formulation.

How do I decide between OEM, ODM, and private label?

It depends on whether you already have a formula (OEM), want full formulation control from a brief (ODM), or want the fastest launch from a proven base (private label). See our Manufacturing Guide for a full breakdown.

Can I start with private label and move to OEM or ODM later?

Yes — this is a common and sensible progression. Many brands launch with private label to validate demand, then move to ODM or OEM as volume and requirements grow.

Who owns the formula in each model?

With OEM, you own the formula you provided. With ODM, ownership terms are agreed upfront and can be structured as exclusive to your brand. With private label, the base formula is typically shared across clients, though branding is fully yours.

Can TX Labs match or improve on a competitor's product?

Yes — our ODM team can benchmark against an existing product and develop a comparable or improved formulation as a starting point for your brief.

Formulation & Ingredients

What product categories does TX Labs formulate?

Skincare, hair care, and personal care — 14+ formats including serums, cleansers, moisturisers, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and more. See our Products menu for detail.

Can I request a fragrance-free or hypoallergenic formulation?

Yes — fragrance, sensitivity considerations, and hypoallergenic requirements can all be specified as part of your formulation brief.

What ingredients does TX Labs source?

We source clinically supported actives, botanical extracts, peptides, vitamins, ceramides, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and collagen boosters from trusted global suppliers, matched to your brand's goals.

How long does formulation development typically take?

Timelines depend on complexity, but our structured process — from compatibility assessment through shelf-life testing — is designed to move efficiently from concept to production-ready formula.

Can I request specific "free-from" claims, like sulfate-free or silicone-free?

Yes — clean formulation requirements, including specific ingredient exclusions, can be built into your formulation brief from the start.

Is exclusivity available on custom formulations?

Yes — ODM formulations can be developed as fully exclusive to your brand, separate from any shared or benchmark formula.

Packaging

Does TX Labs help with packaging as well as formulation?

Yes — packaging development, including material selection, sustainable options, and artwork support, is part of our end-to-end service.

Does TX Labs offer sustainable packaging options?

Yes — sustainable packaging is one of our core options alongside standard bottle, jar, and airless formats. See our Packaging page for material specifics.

Can TX Labs help if I don't have artwork or branding assets yet?

Yes — our team offers full artwork support and packaging design if you don't yet have branding assets in place.

Does packaging have its own MOQ, separate from the formula?

Packaging and formula MOQs are considered together during scoping, since packaging format (e.g. custom-moulded vs. stock) affects the achievable minimum.

Can I get documentation on packaging material traceability?

Yes — batch traceability documentation is available on request, particularly useful for retail listings and export markets.

MOQ, Pricing & Payment

What is the minimum order quantity for a new product?

MOQs vary by product type, packaging format, and manufacturing model. Private label generally has the lowest minimums, OEM and ODM vary by formula complexity — contact us for a quote specific to your product.

Does a lower MOQ mean lower quality?

No — every batch, regardless of size, is manufactured under the same ISO 22716 and HSA GMP standards.

Can I increase order volume later without changing manufacturers?

Yes — our scalable manufacturing process supports your brand from initial low-MOQ launch through to large-scale production.

How much does a production run cost?

Costs depend on product type, packaging, formulation complexity, and order volume. Our team provides a specific quote once we understand your product.

Can I order samples before committing to a full production run?

Yes — a trial batch or sample is standard practice before full production, so you can confirm the formula and packaging meet expectations.

What is the typical payment structure?

This varies by project scope, but generally involves a deposit to begin formulation or tooling, with the balance due before production or on delivery. Your project lead will confirm specifics during scoping.

Is TX Labs certified?

Does TX Labs support international regulatory compliance?

Can I verify TX Labs' certifications directly?

Yes — TX Labs has experience supporting brands exporting across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, regardless of order size.

Can TX Labs handle regulatory documentation for export markets?

What happens if there's a delay in my production timeline?

Your project lead will communicate any changes to timeline as early as possible, along with the reason and revised delivery estimate.

Can I track the status of my order?

Yes — your project lead provides updates at each major milestone, from formulation approval through to production and delivery.

Do you offer expedited or rush production?

This depends on current production capacity and product complexity — raise your timeline requirements early in scoping so we can advise on feasibility.
